Heavy Equipment Operator:
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include front-end loaders, graders, rollers, skidsteers, excavators, dozers, pavers and other pieces of heavy equipment

Essential Functions:
Knowledge of equipment safety and the ability to operate in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Knowledge of operation of front-end loaders, graders, rollers, skidsteers, excavators, pavers and other pieces of heavy equipment.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Advise job foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Demonstrate knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
Maintain daily records.
Demonstrate self-motivation, and excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
May perform other related duties

Competencies:
Must be 18 years of age.
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver's license required, Commercial driver’s license helpful.
Display an uncompromising focus on safety by properly following company policies and MSHA/DOT/DEQ regulations for safe working procedures and protection of the environment.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Ability to do basic math.
Must require minimal supervision.
Employee will be required to work in outdoor environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and weather.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders,

Starting Wage:
